Roundup: The best new 9.7-inch iPad Pro cases & accessories

Apple’s new 9.7-inch iPad Pro is the same dimensions as the iPad Air 2 on paper, but the device’s new 12-megapixel camera means your old iPad case probably won’t cut it. That is unless you cut it yourself to accommodate the new larger camera and flash that will make a larger opening on cases necessary for the new device. So your iPad Air 2 case won’t be a perfect fit, but there is already a long list of notable case makers with products available to order.  The only exceptions to that maybe are sleeve style cases that don’t have any camera openings.

But if you want a case that was truly made to fit your new 9.7-inch iPad Pro without any compromises, below we’ve put together a running list of the best new cases available now and coming soon.

The new 9.7-inch iPad Pro will officially go on sale March 24th after its introduction at Apple’s event earlier this week. The device starts at $599 for the entry-level 32GB model, and it’s also available in 128GB ($749), and 256GB capacities ($899) with pricing going upwards for cellular models. You’ll be able to get it in Apple’s usual silver, space gray, gold, and rose gold (for the first time) color options.

And with support for Apple Pencil (and a new Smart Keyboard from Apple), you might also consider some new accessories for the 9.7-inch iPad Pro other than cases including keyboards, Apple Pencil cases and docks, and more.

The iPad Air 2 screen protectors should fit the 9.7in iPad Pro correct?

I’m thinking about getting a keyboard case like the one here, someone had a chance to try it out? http://www.spotga.com/2016/03/97-inch-ipad-pro-cases.html

I just got the Apple smart cover for my iPad Pro 9.7 and I am very disappointed. The Apple smart cover does not fit well. The cover has been cut too large for the iPad and sticks out on one side (the side that opens) with a mildly sharp edge. This protrusion makes the cover uncomfortable to hold when open and prone to false-opens when closed. It fits like a cheap knock off instead of a true Apple product. What is going on Apple? Apple had to know these covers fit poorly. Shame on you. Apple needs to make a cover that fits as well as the cover for the iPad Air 2 (which I also have).

The smart cover is meant to be used with the iPad pro case. The cover fits perfectly when you have both. This is the same as it is with the larger iPad Pro. If the cover wasn’t a bit larger than the front cover, it would be very difficult to open if the back was also attached.

Will Belkin be making their qode ultimate pro for the new iPad?

Will Apple produce leather cases/covers for the new iPad? Akin to what exists currently for the iPad air 2?

What covers are available for the Ipad Pro 9.7 with Apple Smart Keyboard attached? Thanks
