Apple seeds fourth tvOS 9.2.1, iOS 9.3.2, & OS X 10.11.5 betas to testers

Low Power Mode Night Shift iOS 9.3.2 beta 2

Apple has released the fourth beta of its iOS 9.3.2 update to both developers and public beta testers today. OS X El Capitan 10.11.5 and tvOS 9.2.1 also saw a fourth beta release for developers today. The latest developer and public betas haven’t seen any major changes as it appears they are turning out to be more bug fix releases than anything. Simultaneous use of Low Power Mode and Night Shift had been reactivated as of iOS 9.3.2 beta 2.

Apple pushed the first OS X 10.11.5 betas a month ago, focusing primarily on under-the-hood bug fixes and improvements for developers. These updates are far smaller than the recent OS X 10.11.4 updates that were released last month. That OS X update had added password-protected Notes, expanded Live Photos support, and more.

These small updates look to be bug fix-focused releases potentially looking to improve general stability before the next operating systems are set to be announced at this year’s WWDC. Developers looking to get caught up on the beta builds and read through the release notes can head over to Apple’s Developer Center for more information. Downloads for tvOS, iOS, and OS X can also be found through Apple’s Developer Center. You can learn more about testing public betas through Apple’s Beta Software Program.

Till now I haven’t seen any bug fixes related to Finder. These betas are fast becoming irrelevant.

How can a beta become irrelevant if it’s fixing things even if it’s not what you specifically want fixed?

      • chrisl84 - 8 years ago

Placebo effect….won’t actually fix anything but end users will feel like it does simply by the act of performing an update.

What bugs does Finder have? Also, did you report them?

      • tissot11 - 8 years ago

I have reported some bugs for last 1.5 years and provided the diagnostic data. Every time I was told that they know this issues and they will fix it but now I think it will never happen…

I hope they squish some of the bugs emerging in TVOS – i’ve had it crash when pausing an iTunes episode and sometimes the sound vanishes and I have to restart the box.

    • i seriously thought it was just me the sound just vanishes when i leave it on and turn the tv off and the next day i turn the tv on and their is no sound so i have to restart the box this needs to be fixed now

I have the same issues as well. I also have the issue where my Home Sharing will disconnect and I have to close out of iTunes and restart is again to get things to work again.

same issue here. i have found that putting the Apple TV to sleep then waking it up restores audio. faster than the reboot.

The new Apple TV actually drives me nuts on the software side. The box restarts instead of only going to sleep for example. The sound does not work half the time and the box needs a restart. Siri is extremely slow. UI is often sluggish. Apps crash often. Games ( the Apple restrictions) are plain annoying on the gameplay and amount of bugs side. In my opinion the new Apple TV is not worth its price point at all.

It sounds like your Apple TV is having some overall software/hardware problems. Especially with the reboots. Mine doesn’t even remotely do that.

    • Jassi Sikand - 8 years ago

That sounds like a defect with your specific device, not with the overall product

Because my internet traffic is limited to 80GB/mo., I had to set up a proxy on my Apple TV to avoid this data cap. Unfortunately, Siri stopped working after setting up the proxy. I’m very glad that Apple finally fixed this issue in the latest tvOS beta. Now Siri is working perfectly fine.

Now they just have to fix the issue that my Apple Music playlists are not syncing to my Apple TV…

Anyone else here seen issues with slow or no spotlight lookup on iOS ? I’ve seen cases where even an app I know is installed, type it into the spotlight bar on iOS and finds nothing or takes forever to find it. Have a bug created for this out there as well, just interested if others have seen this

I had the same problem on my iPhone 6. A fresh restore from backup has fixed it so far. It’s likely a ram bug, as closing out all of my open apps fixed it briefly, something you shouldn’t have to do.

Is that infamous el cap bug related to the video and html5 that causes a total freeze of mac gone in this seed? If you don’t know what I’m talking about see this thread – http://forums.macrumors.com/threads/macbook-pro-2015-with-osx-el-capitan-10-11-4-system-wide-freeze.1963711/

I’d just like to see some very basic functionality sorted out. Volume on iOS is a mess. Mute should mean mute – all audio from the device – not start a YouTube video and suddenly have to turn the device down. A very simple volume control set up in control centre – one slider for audio, one for alerts. Mute silences all. Why is it so difficult to implement?

Is anyone else having trouble authenticating in iMessage? It was working fine for me yesterday until I updated last night and now I can’t get it to authenticate my iCloud account. Troubleshooting, but would love any suggestions!

    • totencough - 8 years ago

Disregard. I was able to get it working by disabling the account in System Preferences, rebooting, then re-enabling and signing in. All is well in the world.

Conspicuously missing from the beta lineup, WatchOS.
