First Brooklyn Apple Store grand opening now set for July 30

Earlier this week 9to5Mac reader Matthew shared that the scaffolding has come down around the anticipated location of the first Brooklyn Apple Store, and today Apple has updated its website with official grand opening details. The Williamsburg Apple Store opens next Saturday on July 30th at 10am local time. The latest New York City location can be found at 247 Bedford Avenue in Brooklyn.

Regular business hours will run 10am to 8pm on Monday through Saturday with shorter business hours from 11am to 7pm on Sundays.

Apple’s first Brooklyn location has been a long-time coming. Earlier this year, job listings for the Williamsburg location went live suggesting the new Apple Store would open its doors sometime this summer. The project, however, was detailed back in 2014 and actually expected to be complete sometime last year. 9to5Mac reported, however, that the Brooklyn spot was running behind schedule last year.

As for the first Apple Store in Brooklyn, we’re told that development is also running behind. News of the Brooklyn store first broke out in December with an opening date target of April 2015. Apparently unspecified delays mean that this target will be now be later in the year or even in early 2016. The Brooklyn store, earlier reports said, will be located in Williamsburg in a vintage looking building on Bedford Ave. and North 3rd Street.

Here’s what the exterior looked like earlier this week as the scaffolding came down:

As you can see, Apple has maintained the look of the building itself as the original model pictured above illustrated when the project was revealed. A second Apple Store is already reportedly being planned in Brooklyn following the Williamsburg grand opening.
