Popular password manager app 1Password is today launching a new subscription plan for individuals, adding to the plans for Families and Teams it launched earlier this year.
The company says the $3/month subscription service won’t replace its standalone apps that it will continue to develop and offer for sale alongside the new subscription service.
Full versions of 1Password usually sell for $64.99 on Mac and $9.99 for iOS devices, but the new $3/month plan lets you download the app to all of your compatible devices and also access all “Pro” features and future updates. There are also new features, like web access through 1Password.com, document storage up to 1GB, and new multi-factor security features that you’ll only be able to get with the new subscription service.
The company notes that the new individual plan is similar to its offerings for Families and Teams that it began offering earlier this year. Here’s what’s included:
- Built-in automatic sync across all devices
- Data loss protection
- Web access to your data on 1Password.com
- Item History for restoring deleted or changed items
- Secure Document storage
- Brand new multi-factor security model
While the company promises it will continue development of the standalone desktop and mobile apps including for Mac and iOS, it’s encouraging an upgrade to the new service and offers a guide to migrate your 1Password data to your new subscription account.
You can get your first 6 months free for the new subscription plan as a limited time launch offer until September 21st. And the company notes that you can cancel at any time and still have access to view and export your data.
If you’d prefer to stick withe a license on the standalone versions of 1Password, you can still purchase the apps from App Store for iOS and Mac.
