Apple updates Pages, Keynote, and Numbers for Mac w/ real-time collaboration features & more

Alongside its public release of macOS Sierra, the latest major operating system release for Mac, Apple today updated its Pages, Keynote, and Numbers apps with new features including real-time collaboration.

The standout new functionality is the real-time collaboration, a feature Apple demoed during its iPhone 7 event earlier this month and first added to the iWork iOS apps with updates last week. Currently in beta, the feature allows multiple users on Mac, iPad, iPhone, and iCloud.com edit a document at the same time.

In addition to the real-time collaboration features, all the apps add support for wide color gamut images and the ability to use tabs to work on multiple documents in one window. And Keynote gets the new Keynote Live feature that lets users “present a slideshow that viewers can follow from their Mac, iPad, iPhone, and from iCloud.com”

Apple is also rolling out the public release of macOS Sierra today that it first showed off and released for beta testers earlier this year. The release brings Siri to the Mac for the first time, Apple Pay on the web, adds a new Auto Unlock feature that works with Apple Watch, and much more. Check out our rundown of what’s new in macOS Sierra here.

You can download the updated Pages, Keynote, and Numbers Mac apps on the Mac App Store now.
