Kohl’s to start selling Apple Watch in 400 stores on November 15 ahead of Black Friday deal

Department store Kohl’s is the latest retailer to begin carrying the Apple Watch just in time for the holiday shopping season. Fortune reports that Kohl’s will offer the Apple Watch at 400 of its retail locations starting November 15.

That’s just a fraction of its 1,100 locations across the country, but the report notes that it tops rival Macy’s effort. We learned back in September that Macy’s is selling the Apple Watch at 180 of its stores with mini Apple boutiques for its shoppers.

Apple Watch Nike+ has also expanded retail availability for the product with Nike stores and Dick’s Sporting Goods carrying it for the first time this year.

As for Kohl’s, the retailer has been a close partner with Apple in supporting the mobile payment service Apple Pay.

For example, Kohl’s was an early adopter for accepting Apple Pay at its stores and was the first retailer to make its store credit card compatible with Apple’s Wallet app. Kohl’s has since made its rewards card also compatible with Apple Pay.

If you’re looking for a deal on buying the Apple Watch during the holiday season, stay tuned to our sister site 9to5Toys. Earlier today, 9to5Toys published a sneak peek at the Kohl’s Black Friday ad for later this month which includes a pretty compelling promotion when you buy an Apple Watch from the Kohl’s on the day after Thanksgiving.

Overall, it should be a decent quarter for the Apple Watch as new models were just released along the iPhone 7. Apple Watch Series 1 matches the features of the first-generation model but with a faster processor, and Apple Watch Series 2 adds built-in GPS for athletes and stronger waterproofing for swimmers.
