Cardiogram app partners with insurance companies to offer incentives for Apple Watch wearers

We’ve heard numerous stories of users being saved by Apple Watch. In fact, Apple routinely touts the safety benefits during its keynotes. Insurance companies are now beginning to catch on. Amica Life and Greenhouse Life Insurance, are partnering up with health app Cardiogram to offer accidental life insurance coverage for those using wearables.

As reported by Business Insider, the program offers those who wear Apple Watch the opportunity to qualify for up to $1,000 in AD coverage for 12 months. Users who are eligible will also be able to purchase up to $500,000 in additional coverage through the Cardiogram app.

Cardiogram users who have an Apple Watch Series 0-3 are eligible for the program. The new Apple Watch Series 4 is also supported.

This is a step in the right direction as wearable devices such as Apple Watch are becoming increasingly more accurate at tracking and recording health data.
