We’re still awaiting DJI’s announcement – and the the full details of the highly-anticipated Mavic 3. Full specs are never released until the product itself gets launched. But a source close to DJI provided DroneDJ with a full set of documents that reveal everything you need to know about the Mavic 3 Pro: pricing, specifications, imagery, and more. Head below for the full details…

The Mavic 3 is one of DJI’s most anticipated launches. Of course, they’re all anticipated. But the Mavic 3 is expected to be the top of the line for prosumer users – and the refresh from the Mavic 2 Pro (which is no longer being manufactured) is certainly overdue.

Now, we’re pleased to report the full specs of the DJI Mavic 3, a drone that will weigh in at 920 grams and come equipped with both a wide-angle camera and zoom.

Mavic 3 specs and price

The first thing to know is there will be two Mavic 3 models: A standard Mavic 3 and a “Cine” model. The standard model will retail for $1599. The Cine model will feature an internal SSD and a high-speed data cable for quickly downloading data. As you know, shooting 5.2K video chews through a lot of memory – and swapping out MicroSD cards can become a slight pain if you’re doing a lot of shooting.

Anyway, let’s take a look at what we’ve got:

The Mavic 3 features

In terms of raw specifications, the base model DJI Mavic 3 will weigh in at 920 grams and have both a telephoto and wide-angle camera. It will be able to capture 5.2K video and 20MP still images. Here’s what it looks like, based on an image that appears in the official manual:

You’ll note, as we’d seen previously in a sketch (that appeared to be photoshopped from the real thing) that the forward obstacle avoidance sensors are angled slightly, and no longer point straight ahead. This is a design change that will presumably assist with a greater field of view for obstacle avoidance.

Here’s a look from another angle:

According to the documents, the Mavic 3 will feature the full array of DJI proprietary features including obstacle avoidance and intelligent flight mode. Other features will include HyperLapse, ActiveTrack, QuickShot, Panorama and Advanced Pilot Assistance to “help you easily capture challenging shots.”

The Mavic 3 will have amazing flight time

The DJI Mavic 3 Pro will feature a max duration of 46 minutes of flight time (based on optimal conditions: No wind, and flying at 15.5 mph (25 kph). It weighs 920 grams.

  • Telephoto camera: 15-degree field of view, f/4.4 aperture, focus from 3m
  • Wide-angle camera: 84-degree field of view, f/2.8 aperture – f/11 aperture, focus from 1m

The documents also confirm that DJI is planning a Fly More combo for the Mavic 3 Pro. with additional accessories including extra propellers, 3 batteries, a carrying bag, and more.

What comes with the Mavic 3?

Well, that depends on what you purchase: The base model, the Fly More Combo, or the Mavic 3 Cine model. Here’s a “What’s in the Box” table contained in the leaked DJI documents:

The Cine model of the Mavic 3 will come with an SSD and ultra high-speed data cable. There is no pricing information for this model yet, but you should expect to be closer to $2,500. If you check out the box above, you’ll see that the Cine model supports data transfer via high-speed cable of 1 Gbps. That is sizzling and sure beats yanking microSD cards in our books.
