Redbox Instant, Verizon’s subscription-based streaming TV app, now allows you to stream some content to your Apple TV via AirPlay.
However, if Engadget‘s experience is anything to go by, don’t expect too much from it. It’s apparently limited to streamed rather than downloaded content, and will stop playing when you receive many iOS notifications, like text messages.
Redbox Instant was launched at the end of last year as a Netflix competitor, offering unlimited streaming plus four DVD rentals for $8/month.
It’s the one app that lets you*:
– Browse and watch movies instantly
– Reserve the newest releases at your local Redbox
– Download movies you purchased on the web to watch offline
Redbox Instant is convenient, easy and affordable. Check us out!
* A subscription to Redbox Instant by Verizon is required to use the app.
