According to Mark Gurman’s latest Power On newsletter, Apple will be releasing iOS 18.2 a little bit earlier than usual, on the week of December 2nd. He also outlines some more details on the release timeline for future Apple Intelligence features.
In this weekend’s newsletter, Mark Gurman from Bloomberg writes an interesting new detail on the release date for iOS 18.2:
The iOS 18.2 operating system update, which includes major improvements to Apple Intelligence […] is likely to arrive on the earlier side of December, I’m told. How early? The week of Dec. 2, barring any unexpected delays.
This is a little bit earlier than usual, although not necessarily surprising. Apple likely wants to get its next wave of AI features, including Genmoji and ChatGPT integration, into hands as fast as possible.
In the past, iOS x.2 updates have been released around the second week of December, with iOS 17.2 launching on December 11th, and iOS 16.2 launching on December 13th.

I'm going to keep reposting this in the hopes that someone who can influence sees it;
Please please please add back the 'cumulative addition' feature in the calculator (ie. type a number press plus, then each time you press equals it adds that original number to the total)
I used it all the time in construction for evenly spacing things out...the iOS18 calculator removed it 😭
So, the public will get to use Apple’s second wave of Apple Intelligence about a week earlier than standard.
He also writes that iOS 18.4, the “next major update to Apple Intelligence”, will be launching in April. iOS x.4 updates tend to release in March, so this is actually a bit later than usual. Hopefully, it’ll end up being worth the wait.
iOS 18.4 is expected to include big upgrades to Siri, including support for personal context.
