iPhone 17 Air to get a ‘barely blue’ color option, suggests leaker

A leaker with a mixed track record has suggested that the “main” color option for the upcoming iPhone 17 Air will be a “very light” blue.

They go on to say that the color will be so faint that it will simply appear to be white in some lights. This seems reminiscent of “barely blue” colors we’ve seen from Apple before …

Fixed focus digital posted on Weibo:

Blue is probably the main color of iPhone 17 Air this time. It is different from all the blue colors released by Apple in the past. The blue is very light…

Note: If there is no brightness, it is easy to confuse with white.

As with gray, Apple has used many different shades of blue over the years, some of them more subtle than others. The Sierra Blue for the iPhone 13 Pro was one example of a look some described as a very light blue, while the Sky Blue of the M4 MacBook Air was widely described as barely blue at all.

It’s unclear on what basis FFD describes it as the “main” color, though it could simply be a reference to it being a new color, which tend to be highlighted by Apple in marketing materials.

Another leaker yesterday suggested that the reduced bezels we’re expecting for the Pro and Air models are actually coming to the base model too.
