Following last month’s announcement that Apple Fitness+ would launch in Japan “early next year”, the service is now available. Here are the details.
Launch in Japan was promised for early 2026
A few weeks ago, Apple announced that it would expand Apple Fitness+ availability to Japan, following the rollout of the service to 28 additional regions, including Chile, Hong Kong, India, the Netherlands, Singapore, and Taiwan.
The announcement also introduced AI-powered dubbed workouts and meditations, using generated voices based on each Fitness+ trainer’s real voice.
Apple said the feature would require iOS 26.1 or later, tvOS 26.1 or later, and iPadOS 26.1 or later, with dubbed content available in Spanish and German, and Japanese support arriving alongside the expansion to Japan.
Now, as spotted by MacOtakara, the service is live in Japan, costing ¥980/month (roughly $6.20), or ¥7,800/year (roughly $49).
As it does in other regions, Apple is offering a 3-month trial of Apple Fitness+ in Japan to customers who acquire eligible products, including Apple Watch, iPad, Apple TV, and iPhone, as well as select Beats products like the Powerbeats Pro 2.
Like in other regions, there’s a 1-month free trial available, in addition to a 3-month trial for customers who purchase a new Apple Watch, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, AirPods Pro 3, or Powerbeats Pro 2 from Apple or an authorized retailer.
To celebrate the launch, Apple is highlighting the “Time to Walk: Naomi Watanabe” activity, a 17-minute audio walking experience in which the Japanese actress and comedian reflects on her career and personal journey.
