Apple TV reveals new comedy series with dark twist, here’s the trailer

Apple TV just released the trailer for Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed, a new dark comedy coming next month with thriller flair.

Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed premieres May 20 on Apple TV

Apple TV has its most popular comedy ever—Ted Lasso—coming back this summer. But there are several exciting new comedies premiering before then.

Next week, Margo’s Got Money Troubles arrives with critical acclaim and a stacked cast. Stars include Elle Fanning, Michelle Pfeiffer, Nicole Kidman, Nick Offerman, and more.

Then in May, Apple has another original comedy coming with a dark, thriller twist: Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed. The series stars Emmy winner Tatiana Maslany (‘Orphan Black,’ ‘The Monkey’) alongside Jake Johnson (‘New Girl’).

Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed premieres Wednesday, May 20 with its first two episodes, followed by weekly releases through July 15.

Here’s Apple’s series summary, followed by the new trailer:

“Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed” follows newly divorced mom Paula (Maslany) as she falls down a dangerous rabbit hole of blackmail, murder and youth soccer. Convinced she witnessed a crime — while simultaneously struggling through a custody battle and an identity crisis — Paula begins her own investigation, one that could unravel a greater conspiracy while also holding the keys to rebuilding her family and sense of self.

The creator and showrunner behind Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed is David J. Rosen (“Sugar,” “Hunters”). Sugar season 2 is coming this summer with star Colin Farrell returning.
