Leaked Apple asset shows M4 Max chip ahead of MacBook Pro launch

Apple is in the middle of a trio of Mac launches, with yesterday bringing the M4 iMac and today the M4 Mac mini. Tomorrow’s expected product is the M4 MacBook Pro, and a newly leaked Apple asset seems to confirm that.

M4 Max chip has not yet been announced by Apple

As spotted by Charlie Joseph on X, Apple’s website now contains an image depicting the not-yet-announced M4 Max chip.

The image can be seen below, and is currently available here.

This all but confirms that tomorrow’s announcement will be the new MacBook Pro.

The new M4 MacBook Pro is expected to arrive in several variants, just like its predecessors:

  • a 14-inch entry model
  • and the more powerful 14-inch and 16-inch models

The latter two models will offer the M4 Pro and M4 Max as chip options.

Today’s Mac mini announcement brought the first news about the M4 Pro chip. But no Macs announced to date have offered an M4 Max.

Besides the updated chips, the new MacBook Pro models are likely to support Thunderbolt 5, start at 16GB of RAM, and have some other minor improvements. However, a big redesign isn’t in the cards for the MacBook Pro this year.
