As holiday shopping continues, Apple is running a fun promotion at Apple Stores this weekend.
At select stores in San Francisco, Miami, Los Angeles, and New York City, live artists will be available to personalize gift bags for Apple shoppers…
The live artsits will be available at these four Apple Stores from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. local time on Saturday and Sunday:
- Apple Union Square in San Francisco, CA
- Apple Aventura in Miami, FL
- Apple The Grove in Los Angeles, CA
- Apple Fifth Avenue in NY, NY
At these stores, Apple shoppers can choose to have their gift bags customized by a live artist. You can check out the bios of each artist below.

- Erik Marinovich, a San Francisco-based lettering artist and designer, co-founded Friends of Type. Since 2009, he’s been designing letters, logos, and type for various consumer brands. In 2012, he co-founded Title Case, a creative workspace that hosts workshops and lectures. Between client work, teaching, and side projects, you’ll find him traveling to promote Keep Fresh Stay Rad and Let’s Go Letter Hunting, two new releases from Friends of Type published by Princeton Architectural Press.
Apple Aventura – Miami
Jackson Alves – @letterjack
- Jackson Alves, a Brazilian calligraphy and lettering artist and educator based in Orlando, Florida, has dedicated the past twelve years to exclusively working as a letterform expert. Graduating in graphic design in 2003, Alves has collaborated with clients from various countries, showcasing his expertise in lettering. His remarkable achievements include receiving the 10th and 12th Graphic Design Biennial awards in Brazil and the prestigious “Certificate of Typographic Excellence” from the Type Directors Club in New York City. Notably, some of his works are permanently preserved in the collection of The Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy in Moscow.

- Calligraphy Katrina, founded in 2007 by the highly artistic and talented Katrina Centeno-Nguyen, started as a humble endeavor. At the age of 19, Katrina was approached by a friend to design wedding envelopes. With a modest budget of $10, she purchased a pen and a pack of envelopes to create samples for her first project. After gaining a few more clients, her talent caught the attention of the renowned wedding blog, Project Wedding. This recognition led to an encouraging write-up that showcased her natural speed, exceptional writing skills, and upbeat personality. Consequently, Los Angeles’ luxury wedding industry, museums, and top fashion houses like Vogue, Dior, Ferragamo, and Chanel took notice of her work.
Apple Fifth Avenue – New York
Lynne Yun – @lynneyun
- Lynne Yun, a NYC-based type designer, educator, and technologist, founded Space Type, a studio practice that bridges the gap between type and technology. She also recently co-founded Type Electives, an online design school that’s shaping the future of type.
