Getting free Apple TV through T-Mobile right now? A price rise is on the way

Are you currently getting a free Apple TV subscription as a perk of your T-Mobile phone plan? Well, unfortunately, that freebie is going to (somewhat) end in January ..

Earlier this year, Apple TV’s price rose from $9.99 to $12.99 per month. For the last few months, T-Mobile has simply absorbed this price change for customers getting free Apple TV subscriptions through its various plans.

However, T-Mobile has now announced that it will not be covering the price rise going forward. ‘Apple TV On Us’, not so much anymore.

Starting in January, the free Apple TV perk will turn into a discounted Apple TV perk. The T-Mobile discount is worth $9.99 per month, so if you want to keep Apple TV on your plan, your monthly bill will rise by $3.

If you don’t want to pay the extra $3, you can choose to cancel your discounted Apple TV access through the T-Life app.

Although the price rise is ultimately caused by Apple rather than T-Mobile, this may make some subscribers consider an alternative carrier.

Arguably for Apple ecosystem users, the most cost effective way to get Apple TV is through the Apple One bundle. This offers Apple Music, TV, Arcade and 50 GB iCloud storage for $19.95 per month.
