VSCO is rolling out an AI-powered upscaling tool as part of its recently announced AI Lab set of features. Here’s how to try it for free.
VSCO AI Lab can upscale images up to 4×
Last October, VSCO announced AI Lab, an initiative designed to introduce a range of AI-powered tools to make photo editing easier and more effective for both amateur and professional photographers.
At the time, VSCO introduced the Remove tool, which lets users easily erase unwanted objects from photos. It also said an Upscale tool was on the way, and now it’s here.

According to VSCO, the new Upscale tool can increase image resolution by up to 4×, allowing photographers to turn low-resolution or heavily cropped shots into sharp, high-quality images.
Here’s how the company is presenting the new tool:
Upscale your work
Bring new life to your images with an AI image upscaler that sharpens detail, reduces pixelization, and keeps your composition intact. Perfect for printing or cropping.
And here is an important detail: although Remove and Upscale are part of VSCO’s Pro membership, the company is allowing all users to try them for free, no trial needed.
