iPhone 18 Pro could make one of last year’s best features far better

iPhone 17 Pro has been a huge hit, and one of its most impressive features is battery life. But rumors indicate the iPhone 18 Pro could offer big battery gains yet again, thanks to three key upgrades.

iPhone 18 Pro: Three upgrades should make battery life even more impressive

Apple delivered in a big way with the iPhone 17 Pro. Consumer demand has been “staggering,” per CEO Tim Cook. And the recent quarterly results made that very clear.

A fresh design, Cosmic Orange, camera improvements, and best-ever battery life seem to be driving iPhone 17 Pro’s popularity.

And on the battery front, rumors indicate iPhone 18 Pro will take things to a whole new level thanks to three upgrades:

  1. Physically larger battery
  2. More efficient C2 modem
  3. A20 Pro chip

Having a physically larger battery is the most obvious evidence that iPhone 18 Pro should achieve a new best-ever battery life.

Rumors indicate Apple will again increase the thickness of its Pro models to pack in a bigger battery. It’s possible only the Pro Max will get the larger battery, but both models seems more likely.

Beyond battery size though, Apple silicon is expected to bring an extra helping of battery boosts this year.

For starters, Apple is dropping Qualcomm 5G modems for its own in-house C2 modem. Both the C1 and C1X have brought noteworthy power efficiency improvements, and C2 should do the same.

Additionally, the new A20 Pro chip will be built with a new 2nm process and WMCM packaging. And each of these innovations is expected to boost power efficiency.

All of this could add up to offer truly impressive upgrades over the already fantastic iPhone 17 Pro battery life.
