OpenAI confirms ongoing issues with ChatGPT, Codex
Per Downdetector, OpenAI began experiencing partial outages between 10 and 10:30 a.m. ET.
OpenAI’s system status page confirms the ongoing issues.
Both ChatGPT and Codex are affected, with some users unable to log in, search, use voice mode, and other wide-ranging issues.
The official status update from OpenAI says, “Users unable to load ChatGPT and Codex.” The company is currently investigating the issues and has no further update yet.
OpenAI’s first update happened at 10:35 a.m. saying it was investigating the issue. At 11:13 a.m. another update was posted saying they are still investigating.
We’ll keep you posted on any official updates or resolutions to the current outages.
Update: At 12:48 p.m. ET, OpenAI said they “have applied the mitigation and are monitoring the recovery.” Evidence from Downdetector appears to confirm that the fix has been broadly effective.
