Ted Lasso season 4 premieres next week (watch here) and centers around a women’s team, here’s a rundown of the new players along with notable cast members who won’t be returning.
New cast additions in Ted Lasso season 4: Lady Greyhounds
Elle has a story out today detailing the main cast additions in Ted Lasso season 4. It’s the first time the new roster has been revealed.
Tanya Reynolds might be the single most notable newcomer. She plays Alice Chilton, one of the coaches of the new Lady Greyhounds team alongside Lasso and Coach Beard. Here’s a tease of her arc:
“I think Alice is trying really hard to be a version of herself that she is not. She’s trying really hard to present as tough and sturdy and focused. She wants to be taken seriously to the point that she has lost all sense of humor and sense of softness. And her journey on Ted Lasso is about her very, very gradually and gently peeling back a hard, outer shell to the softness that’s underneath.”
Star players of the new team include:
- Abbie Hern as Gemma, whose strength is her ambition
- Jude Mack as Boots, the goalkeeper known for her wisdom
- Faye Marsay as Lizzie, who’s full of tenacity
- Aisling Sharkey as Niamh and Rex Hayes as Siobhan, twins who serve as defenders

Just like with the first three seasons of Lasso, the team will have plenty of additional players, but the series will highlight these five in a similar way to how Roy, Jamie, Sam, and others were spotlighted in previous seasons.
Not returning as series regulars: AFC Richmond men’s players
Ted Lasso season 4 won’t feature many of the fan-favorite characters viewers grew to love in earlier seasons.
For example, AFC Richmond players like Jamie Tartt, Dani Rojas, and Sam Obisanya aren’t going to be featured in the new season as regulars.
Though they might make surprise cameos in the show, the members of the men’s team from seasons 1-3 will largely be absent in season 4.
Nick Mohammed, who played Lasso’s friend turned nemesis Nate, is expected to be back in some capacity but not necessarily as a regular.
Core characters like Ted, Rebecca, Keeley, Roy, and Beard are all back full-time. But they’ll partner this time around with newcomers rather than the familiar faces from early seasons.
