Eddy Cue said the thing we wanted to hear on future Ted Lasso seasons

Ted Lasso has returned (watch here) for a highly anticipated fourth season, and Apple TV exec Eddy Cue has now hinted that the show has a long and bright future ahead beyond this season.

Eddy Cue says Ted Lasso has ‘plenty of stories to go on’ for future seasons

Apple has not officially picked up Ted Lasso for season 5, but all signs point to at least two more seasons coming beyond the now-airing season 4.

Deadline reported last year that cast were signed to three-season deals, corresponding with a rumored new three-season arc Jason Sudeikis had in mind.

And now upon the series’ return, Apple’s Services head Eddy Cue was asked about a potential season 5 and more.

In a red carpet interview with ScreenRant concerning the possibility of Ted Lasso season 5, here’s what Cue said:

“I hope so. It’s certainly good enough for that. So I think there’s plenty of stories to go on. We’ll show up. No worries.”

While not confirmation of any specific plans, Cue’s essentially saying that Apple is committed to keeping Lasso going as long as possible.

This is no surprise, but it’s encouraging to hear nonetheless. It hopefully means any future goodbye to these characters is a very long ways off.

Ted Lasso season 4 airs new episodes every Wednesday through October 7. Two episodes are available to watch now on Apple TV.
