Next year’s iPhone Pro models are expected to feature a new, all-glass design timed for the iPhone’s 20th anniversary. And a new leak today details Apple’s progress on the innovative models.
Here’s the latest on Apple’s unique iPhone 20 Pro design
We’re just weeks away from the unveiling of the innovative iPhone Ultra, Apple’s first ever foldable model. But next year will bring another unique new iPhone design.
Rumors indicate Apple is preparing a special all-glass design for next year’s iPhone Pro models. The new models will reportedly have larger screens with quad-curved displays that wrap around the edges of the device for a visually bezel-free look.
Today in a new post, Weibo leaker Fixed Focus Digital has an update on Apple’s progress achieving this unique look.
He says the company is using the same glass assembly process as it employed for iPhone Air. But there are modifications being made to use more rounded materials.
The post also notes that improvements have been made in two areas:
- heat dissipation
- thinness
It’s too early to know what form factor Apple is aiming for in terms of thickness and design materials. So far though, indications are that this new model will take inspiration from iPhone Air and Ultra but not prioritize thinness to the same degree.
Based on these latest updates, it sounds like we could get some of the design innovations of iPhone Air and Ultra, but in a model that still offers performance and battery life at or near what Pro users expect.
Pro users don’t want thinness prioritized. But if Apple can deliver a comparable experience in a moderately thinner model, with a unique all-glass look, that could prove very appealing.
