Apple shares behind-the-scenes video for its fun new Mac mini ad

Apple today published a fun commercial promoting the new Mac mini with M6. Now, the company has shared a short behind-the-scenes video showing some of the (extensive) work that went into producing the ad. Watch it below.

’We have to sculpt and create everything by hand’

Apple’s @helloapple Instagram account published today a short Instagram reel, where it shows some of the process that went into creating its fun ad for the new Mac mini with M6.

In the video (via MacMagazine), animators Justin Rasch and Scott DaRos, alongside art director Josh Mahan, showcase the sketches, props, sculptures, techniques, and materials used throughout the production, as well as stop-motion time-lapses and behind-the-scenes footage revealing how several of the ad’s animations came together.

While the ad isn’t quite as wonderfully unhinged as the MacBook Neo’s TikTok campaign has been since Apple launched its entry-level notebook, it’s still a lot of fun, and even more so once you see how much practical work went into making it.

You can watch the Instagram reel below:
