‘Dark Matter’ season 2 premieres on Apple TV

The first episode of the new season of Dark Matter is now available to Apple TV subscribers. Watch the trailer for the new season below.

Dark Matter returns

More than two years after the conclusion of its first season, Dark Matter is now back on Apple TV for a new 10-episode run.

Starring Joel Edgerton (The Gift, Boy Erased), Jennifer Connelly (A Beautiful Mind, Once Upon a Time in America), and Alice Braga (Elysium, I Am Legend), this sci-fi thriller tells the story of a physicist in Chicago who is abducted and wakes up in an alternate version of his life.

Dark Matter is based on Blake Crouch’s 2016 novel of the same name, and got 1 Emmy nomination last year for Outstanding Title Design. The show also recently took over San Diego Comic-Con’s Hall H, with a panel that looked back at the show’s first season before previewing what lies ahead.

Here’s Apple TV on what to expect from the new season:

Season two picks up with the Dessens as they settle into a quiet life in a world that finally seems safe, until the unimaginable forces them to run once again. As Jason’s obsession with the Box deepens, Daniela’s (Connelly) growing paranoia pushes her to the brink, and their son Charlie (Oakes Fegley) starves for a sense of stability as their family is threatened. Elsewhere, Amanda (Alice Braga) and Ryan (Jimmi Simpson) join forces in a desperate attempt to find their way home. With Blair (Amanda Brugel) determined to stop him, Leighton (Dayo Okeniyi) relentlessly chases his grand vision of creating a perfect world.
