watchOS 27.2 is coming next month with new Apple Watch features, and leaker pdfu just found a big change in the works for screenshots too.
New screenshot experience in watchOS 27.2 code takes inspiration from iPhone
Leaker pdfu has recently started sharing a variety of tidbits found in Apple code. For example, he was the first to discover the Readiness app in watchOS 27, and just yesterday leaked the UI for Siri AI on HomePod.
Today in a new post, pdfu reveals that the watchOS 27.2 beta includes code for a revamped screenshot experience on Apple Watch.
Currently, taking an Apple Watch screenshot simply causes the screen to flash, then the screenshot is added to your Photos library.
The new screenshot flow imitates what’s available now on iPhone and iPad, letting you optionally share and/or delete the screenshot right away.
It’s unclear if Apple plans to implement this change in a forthcoming watchOS 27.2 beta, or if it needs more time for development. But if it doesn’t make the cut in watchOS 27.2, we’re still likely to see it come to the Apple Watch in the near future.
