We need to talk about Siri AI for Apple Watch

Siri AI on Apple Watch arrived two cycles late for watchOS 27 beta this summer. I had high hopes for how new Siri could transform Apple Watch into an AI wearable.

What actually happened in July and August is that Siri has been remarkably unusable in watchOS 27 beta. Like “hold off on updating” bad.

This week, I half-expected Apple to remove “Siri AI” from watchOS 27 beta 8 and revert to the previous version of Siri. Instead, I think Siri AI on Apple Watch actually got good?

No new Apple Watch faces in watchOS 27 (yet), but here’s one I’ve been loving

Less is more when it comes to how I use the Apple Watch. The best experience, for me, requires few notifications and intentional focus on what I want out of the device. This approach applies to Apple Watch faces too. While there are no new watch faces in watchOS 27 yet, I’ve been loving a scaled-back version of a very information-dense option.

The watchOS 27 public beta is now available for Apple Watch. It gives users an early look at the software update coming to everyone this fall.

watchOS 27 includes one potentially transformative addition: Siri AI on your wrist. Apple also added a dynamic app grid, a one-handed tap gesture, and a more proactive Smart Stack. In addition, the update brings several health and fitness upgrades.
