Apple TV 4K, HomeView pre-order ship times now delayed later in November

Apple unveiled new Apple TV 4K and HomeView devices this week that won’t be available until November 13. But pre-order shipping times for these products have already started slipping into late November for new orders.

Apple’s new products don’t launch until November 13, but delivery times are already slipping

If you’re on the fence about buying a new Apple TV 4K or HomeView, it might be a good time to make a decision.

Both products are nearly a month away from shipping, with November 13 the official launch date. But after pre-orders opened earlier this week, delivery times have already started slipping.

New orders from the online Apple Store now quote the following delivery estimates for my US address:

• Apple TV 4K (4th gen): November 23-27
• HomeView: Silver and Starlight models say November 20, others November 13

Checking other zip codes in the US, some addresses can get earlier delivery than the above dates, but they all still show dates beyond November 13. In-store pickup might still be available for launch day though, even while deliveries are delayed.

Alternately, you can currently still order from Amazon for launch day delivery:

• Amazon: Apple TV 4K (4th gen) delivers November 13
• Amazon: HomeView delivers November 13 and is discounted to $289
• The new Apple TV Siri Remote is also on Amazon for launch delivery

Since the launch day for these products is still so far away, it’s likely that Apple’s pre-order ship dates will start slipping even more in the weeks ahead.

As a result, you’ll want to get your orders in soon. The only new product introduced this week that still offers launch day delivery from Apple is the HomePod mini 2, which arrives sooner on October 30.
