Apple TV has new thriller from Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese coming soon

Apple TV has announced a release date for Cape Fear, a new psychological thriller series coming from the producing powerhouse duo of Steven Spielberg and Martin Scorsese.

Cape Fear premieres on Apple TV this June, Javier Bardem and Amy Adams star

One of Apple TV’s most anticipated original series has just gotten a release date (via Apple TV News Hub).

Cape Fear is inspired by the Martin Scorsese film of the same name, which itself was based on the novel “The Executioners.” There was also a previous Gregory Peck-starring film derived from the book.

Apple’s new take on Cape Fear is executive produced by Scorsese alongside Steven Spielberg. The series stars Javier Bardem, Amy Adams, and Patrick Wilson.

Cape Fear hits Apple TV on Friday, June 5 with its first two episodes, followed by weekly releases through July 31.

Here’s Apple’s official series summary:

In “Cape Fear,” a storm is coming for happily married attorneys Amanda and Steve Bowden when Max Cady (played by Bardem), a notorious killer from their past, gets out of prison. The 10-episode series is a tense, Hitchcockian thriller and an examination of America’s obsession with true crime in the 21st century.
