Women in Blue is one of Apple TV’s growing catalog of Spanish-language series, and following its critically acclaimed first season, the release date for season 2 has just been announced.
Women in Blue (‘Las Azules’) season 2 is coming this August

Apple TV has steadily worked to expand its lineup of non-English original series.
Some of the more notable foreign language series include the manga-inspired Drops of God, historical epic Pachinko, French drama Carême, and medical drama Berlin ER.
One recent Spanish series, Women in Blue (‘Las Azules’), premiered to strong reviews from critics and viewers alike. And now Apple has announced its return this summer.
Women in Blue season 2 premieres Wednesday, August 12 with one episode, followed by weekly releases through September 30.
The show is inspired by true events, and centers on four women who “join Mexico’s first female police force—only to discover it’s a publicity stunt to distract the media from a serial killer.”
Here’s the season 2 summary, followed by the season 1 trailer:
“Women in Blue” season two will follow María (Bárbara Mori), now promoted to lieutenant, as she finds herself torn between the rules she’s sworn to uphold and a relentless pull toward the truth when the body of a student activist is discovered, and the Azules are pulled into an investigation that reaches back to the student massacre of 1968. Before they can make sense of what they’ve found, the body of a person connected to that brutal chapter of history is found, sending shock waves through the department. Someone is delivering justice straight to the police’s door, and the Azules are the department’s last hope of stopping the killer. As María, Valentina (Natalia Téllez), Gabina (Amorita Rasgado) and Ángeles (Ximena Sariñana) fight battles both inside and outside the precinct, buried truths rise to the surface and they’re forced to confront an uncomfortable question: in a system plagued with corruption, what is the cost of fighting for their ideals?

This summer, Apple also has a new season of Ted Lasso coming, plus limited series Lucky with Anya Taylor-Joy, the Martin Scorsese-Steven Spielberg thriller Cape Fear, and more.
