Incoming CEO John Ternus shares remarks with Apple employees

One day after Apple announced its CEO transition, the current and future CEOs reportedly held an all-hands meeting with Apple employees about the coming change.

You can find Cook’s comments here, as reported by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.

But Gurman also has details on what incoming CEO John Ternus said to Apple’s teams. Per his report:

In his own comments to employees, Ternus said that he’s “especially excited to be stepping into this role at this moment, because I am telling you we are about to change the world once again.”

He said Apple has an “incredible road map ahead, and I’m not exaggerating when I say this is the most exciting time to be building products and services at Apple in my entire career.” […]

“AI is going to create almost unlimited potential,” he said. “We’re going to be able to keep unlocking possibilities that are going to create entirely new opportunities for our products and services, and I’m so excited about what that’s going to mean for our users.”

Regarding the last paragraph, Ternus has reportedly already started overhauling internal company operations with new AI systems.

Many of Ternus’s reported remarks are full of hyperbole. But that’s probably fitting for the next Apple CEO.

And what would make me really happy? (Beyond finally fixing dysfunctional Siri) I'd be thrilled if they simply launched an Apple Doorbell camera, Homepad and next gen Apple TV. And also that they'd FINALLY increase the ridiculously outdated 1080p restriction in Apple Home!!!!!

Cook has also been known to make plenty of exuberant, borderline over-the-top remarks about Apple’s future pipeline and ambitions, so Ternus is simply following his predecessor in that regard.

It is important to preserve team morale during a big transition, and Ternus is clearly trying to do that here.

When the new CEO gets to unveil Apple’s first new products under his leadership this fall, he’ll have the chance to start proving his words more than just hype.

What are your takeaways from John Ternus’s remarks to Apple employees? Let us know in the comments.
