Today, Apple updated the Mac mini and Mac Studio, bringing Wi-Fi 7 support to both product lines for the first time. Here’s the full list of Apple devices that support all Wi-Fi 7 features.
6 GHz band operation not available in all regions
Apple today published a support document detailing which of its products fully support Wi-Fi 7.
That list is different from Apple’s broader list of devices that can connect to Wi-Fi 7 networks because Wi-Fi 7 is backward-compatible.
This means that devices that only support Wi-Fi 6E can still join compatible Wi-Fi 7 networks and use the 6 GHz band where available, although they do not support the full set of Wi-Fi 7 features.
Wi-Fi 7 features include 320 MHz channels, 4096-QAM, and Multi-Link Operation (MLO), which can increase throughput, improve efficiency, and reduce latency, and you can read more about that here.
That said, here’s Apple’s official list of devices that support all Wi-Fi 7 features as of August 2026:
- MacBook Pro with M5 Pro or M5 Max chip or later
- MacBook Air with M5 chip or later
- Mac mini with M5 Pro chip or later
- Mac Studio with M5 Max chip or later
- iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, or later (excluding iPhone 16e, iPhone 17e)
- iPhone Air
- iPad Pro with M5 chip or later
- iPad Air with M4 chip or later
Apple notes that “Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 features that operate on the 6 GHz band are available only in regions that permit unlicensed Wi-Fi use in that spectrum,” adding that ”if regulatory approval of such operation is unavailable in your region, your device uses only the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands for Wi-Fi.”
