HomeView will include these Apple apps at launch

Apple’s HomeView is available to pre-order now and ships November 13. Here are the Apple apps you’ll be able to use on HomeView at launch.

Here are the apps coming to Apple HomeView on day one

HomeView is a brand new category of Apple product, and runs software not seen before.

While most of the software experience centers on voice interactions with Siri AI and customizable faces, HomeView also has a classic Home Screen with a grid of apps.

Here’s every Apple app that will be available on HomeView at launch:

  • Alarms
  • Audiobooks
  • Calendar
  • Classical Music
  • FaceTime
  • Find My
  • Home
  • Intercom
  • Messages
  • Music
  • News
  • Podcasts
  • Reminders
  • Safari
  • Settings
  • Timers
  • TV
  • Weather
  • World Clock

Almost every app on this list is preinstalled on HomeView. But per Apple’s website, four of them rely on an iPhone connection: Audiobooks, Classical Music, News, and TV.

Huge missed opportunity to give the wall-mounted HomeView an optional wall-mount that interfaces with thermostat wiring.

In theory, these four apps should work seamlessly if your iPhone is on the same Wi-Fi network as the HomeView. But we’ll have to wait for early reviews to know for sure.

Third-party apps will be available too if they have a CarPlay version already and are classified as audio or video apps. This means Spotify, for example, is expected to be on HomeView day one.

I hope Apple plans to add more apps over time. The lack of a dedicated Photos app, for example, seems like a major omission. There are Photos faces and widgets, but I imagine users may want to browse their Photos library on HomeView too.

Which HomeView apps do you expect to use most? Any missing ones you hope get added? Let us know in the comments.
