Apple releases iOS 7.0.2 with fix for Lock screen passcode bypass flaw

Apple has released iOS 7.0.2 over-the-air for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. This is a bug fix release that focuses on rectifying an issue that could allow users to bypass the passcode unlock on the Lock screen. Another fix in this release is to re-add the Greek keyboard options for pass codes.

iOS 7.0.2 brings iOS 7 parity across all supported devices. Alongside the launch of the new iPhones, Apple released iOS 7.0.1, but this release was exclusive to the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c.

Today’s over-the-air update requires a WiFi connection to download and install, and the file size ranges from between 17MB and 20MB depending on which device you are using.

Apple has been testing this bug fix release internally for a couple of weeks, and the company seems to also be testing an update known as iOS 7.1. Perhaps this will arrive alongside the new iPads next month.

Does anyone here know the developer changelog for this release to see if any other bugs have also been fixed? I know Apple usually crams in other updates not mentioned in the public changelog…

yeah well, thanx apple, would be great if fotostream videos would also play when the iOS7 comes out…oh wait!
also in beta the landscape wallpapers would show completely when turning your iPhone vertically. thats gone in the final version? sad.

Just downloaded ios7.0.2 as a fix for problems with ios7, but cannot restart ipad. Only get black screen with iTunes logo in the centre with an image of the charging cable connection to the right of it. Have tried everything (switch off/on, unplug/replug cable, etc, etc) but nothing works. It keeps coming back to this black screen with the logo and cable images. What to do?

I’m having the same problem with my iPhone 4..I did this over 2 hours ago and it still is showing the black screen with the logo and cable image. I’ve reconnected and restored and it still won’t work! I’m getting beyond mad! Apple won’t help unless I give them the serial number, I can’t get to it because my phone won’t turn on! I don’t have the box anymore so I can’t find it there. I’m ready to shatter this phone and be done!

Ashley – use a small paperclip to eject the SIM card from the side of your iPhone. The serial number of the device is on the tray of the SIM card slot.

I need major help ASAP. My phone is literally my life! I just recently downloaded the ios7.0.2. I decided to change my pass-code from numbers to words. A real simple pass-code actually. They had me retype it to verify it and it let me change. Seconds (literally seconds) after I changed my how do you get around the ios 7.0.2 pass-code I locked my phone and then unlocked it to type my new pass-code in. NO LUCK! wtf? I tried several times and eventually it disabled my phone. Once my phone became disabled again I tried again only my whole screen started “glitching.” I have no idea what to do. I’ve gone to my Verizon store and they told me to go to icloud.com then go to Find My iPhone and then “restore it” but when i got to Find My iPhone it said i had no devices activated. So, I tried to activate it through my Mac laptop but being this is a school laptop they won’t give me permission to access. I feel hopeless. Does anyone know any other way to get around the iOS 7.0.2?

For the love of God! I can’t connect to home Wi-Fi anymore! Nothing’s changed so WHY!??

Well great, this just killed the battery on my iPhone 4…

Why exactly did they change the look when they didn’t have to? And Not just the old look. They even changed were the buttons are. I go to tap one button and end up hitting the wrong one. Whoever thought all the white background was a good idea needs to be shot. We get it, it’s shinny and new; now go back to the black and gray before we all go blind. It makes it nearly Imposable to read the labels and titles. And I can’t find anything in iTunes purcheses. Who’s fucking bright idea was it to only organize albums by artist name and not album name. That only works if the album you want has only one artist. The dame thing is useless. The music and video sections on the iPad are a mess and cut out on you the moment you delete an old video or song to make room for new ones, and it only lets you delete one at a time. And I do’t need to know the last 50 apps that were up dated, just update it and clear it away.

How do I delete unwanted photos from iPhone 5 using i.o.s. 7.0.2?

I can select and the trash can shows up but is greyed out and no matter how hard I poke at it nothing happens.

    • Mia - 11 years ago

Petra Huf a light tap on the trash bin bring up an elongated white & red bubble > Delete Photo comes up confirming the deletion.

Sigh, it’s all a horrible red and white design.
