Update: after about 35 minutes, it appears that the Beats 1 stream is back online. The outage may have been caused by an Amazon Web services outage on the East Coast of the US.
Many readers are reporting Beats1 Radio is offline with error -12880 on iOS and just a spin on iTunes for Mac. As per usual, Apple’s System status page shows no outage but currently we aren’t able to find anyone able to get online.
iTunes is showing the below error:

“And from now on always on”
this is happening to me and I would love to be listening to the online radio right about now.
Is anybody aware of when iOS 9 will receive the update for Apple Music?
– other than potentially next Tuesday (iOS 9 beta 3)
Being in beta, its probably not going to be a priority since its technically for developers. Apple Music is a consumer product. You would be more likely to get an Xcode update.
In Hungary there is no Beats 1 Radio at all.
You’re not missing much.
Just came back live for me.
Yes… yes it is. I have waited the whole #$%^& day for Apple to release iTunes 12.2 just so I could try it out. I literally charged up my Bluetooth headset at 7:45am EST so it would be ready. Now they finally get around to releasing 12.2 and everything BUT Beats 1 works.
And they say the Mac is still a priority. … My iPhone could have had it this morning. (jailbroken)
Seems to be back up again.
It is!
It’s back!
Apple amateur hour again. “Always On” ROFL
Might wanna direct your snarky anti-Apple comment at Amazon instead…
As usual, articles like these attract the trolls, like flies to garbage… This was due to an Amazon failure, not the service itself. Nice try, please play again later!
why amazon?
I guess u never heard of the notorious leap second, the addition of a second added to the world clock.
I know this may sound stupid to some of you but I don’t quite get what Amazon has to do with it am I missing something here. Thanks
Amazon rents out servers to companies, specifically AWS is the cause of this. They had an outage. http://aws.amazon.com
Amazon Web Service (AWS) is used by many companies for backend services.
Amazon was having issues today with their AWS which probably lead to Beats 1 going down. Reddit also uses AWS and that was having issues for some users as well.
Impossible to make it work for me. If anybody have a workaround. That would be great.
