Apple reminds podcasters of Podcast Analytics & makes it easier to submit shows to Connect

Apple this evening sent an email to podcasters outlining some reminders about changes to the Apple Podcasts platform, as well as an announcement that makes podcast submission easier for hosting partners…

First and foremost, Apple reminded podcasters that Podcast Analytics is currently in beta and allows creators to see more detailed information about listener patterns and show performance over time. Apple released Podcast Analytics in beta last month.

Apple also outlines some of the specification changes that the Podcasts platform offers in iOS 11, which were previously announced:

  • Enabling providers to deliver clear, concise titles
  • Improving how episodes are ordered and recommended within a season
  • Adding the ability for new subscribers to receive the full current season in their Library
  • Adding quick play to allow users to pick up listening where they left off
Last but not least, Apple also announced that it’s now easier to submit shows to Podcasts Connect:
Submitting a show to Podcasts Connect has never been easier. Use the submitfeed parameter in your links to Podcasts Connect to allow for passthrough of your show feed URL. For example, accessing https://podcastsconnect.apple.com/my-podcasts/new-feed?submitfeed=http://www.veryhungrytourist.com/show.xml will pre-populate the feed URL for The Very Hungry Tourists in Podcast Connect, ready for validation.
