Shrinking on Apple TV+ gets early season 3 pickup

Apple TV+ just kicked off season 2 of Shrinking this week. But rather than waiting to see how the season performs, Apple has given the show an early season 3 renewal.

Season 3 will complete original Shrinking story arc

Apple confirmed via its Apple TV account on X that Shrinking has been renewed for season 3.

The first two episodes of season 2 dropped this week, with many more still to come.

No spoilers, but the first episode ends with a big surprise that sets up what’s sure to be a compelling sophomore run. For what its worth, critics have been loving season 2 just as much as the show’s first season.

If you’re unfamiliar, Shrinking comes from Ted Lasso’s Bill Lawrence and Brett Goldstein (aka Roy Kent), the latter of whom even guest stars in season 2.

Here’s a summary of the show:

“Shrinking” follows a grieving therapist who starts to break the rules and tell his clients exactly what he thinks. Ignoring his training and ethics, he finds himself making huge, tumultuous changes to people’s lives … including his own.

Bill Lawrence has long said there’s a three-season arc in place for Shrinking, so it’s great that his vision will be able to come to fruition. Here’s hoping the same is true for another Lawrence show, Bad Monkey, which has its own three-season plan.

Shrinking is available to watch on Apple TV+.
