Usage cap on AT&T's 'Unlimited' iPad 3G data plan on trial…
Surprising? Not especially. Apple today confirmed it has sold over one million iPads since the product launched last month – it sold its one millionth iPad on Friday, just 28 days after its introduction on April 3.
Available only in the US while Apple deals with what it has called higher than expected demand, the sales record naturally spun further eloquence from Apple

Update: ABC is said to have submitted an HTTP Streaming version to the App Store that will be less bandwidth intensive and work over 3G
ABC’s iPad app might not work over 3G because it doesn’t use the HTTP Live Streaming protocol. According to App Advice, video producers who don’t use this format aren’t allowed by Apple to stream the video over 3G.
Here are some bits from Apple
What immediately grabs me is the opportunity of some hackers to secure and unlimited 3G data plan from AT&T ($30/month) and share it with their other devices. That might be too much for some to pass up.

Yet more insights into the Apple v Adobe battle for a portable multimedia standard have come to light, not least knowledge that the poor performance of Flash on powerful modern smartphones reflects what may yet emerge to be an executive-level blunder on the part of Adobe.
Wired tells us that back when the iPhone was introduced in 2007, Adobe failed to take the Apple product seriously. Instead of focusing its Flash for Mobile teams around development for increasingly powerful devices, it cast its vote toward the so-called

Apple has eclipsed Motorola as the biggest mobile phone maker in the US, while fresh research tells us iPhone-driven global smartphone sales grew 50 per cent in the first quarter. Meanwhile, over half a million iPhones sold in just five months in South Korea.
This is a big deal – Apple has become the biggest phone maker in the US, selling 8.8 million iPhones, beating out previous leading phone maker, Motorola, which sold just 8.5 million of its various flavoured handsets in the spring quarter, down 6.2 million since this time last year.
No surprise that 2.3 million of Motorola

A third Apple patent makes things interesting, describing as it does technologies which should help the company in its continued development of a 3D iteration of Mac OS X.
December 2009 saw Apple reveal a 3D version of OS X using head-tracking technology patent. This latest patent posits use of advanced ambient light sensors on Macs that could interact with surrounding light, changing the way the onscreen objects are displayed to cast shadows as if in reaction to the extrinsic light source.
Patently Apple today shows off images from some recently filed Apple patents that seem to detail additional multi-touch language. These gestures could easily find their way into upcoming Apple software updates/products (although probably just a few at a time). We supposed we should get around to learning this stuff at some point.
Also, another interesting but unrelated feature in the Patently Apple post: iPod adjusts music tempo based on your performance. For example, if your heart rate falls below target, the tempo of your music increases to help get you back up to where you want to be. And vice versa. Smart.
