ABC, other video sites not working on 3G because they don't use HTTP Streaming? (Updated)

Update: ABC is said to have submitted an HTTP Streaming version to the App Store that will be less bandwidth intensive and work over 3G

ABC’s iPad app might not work over 3G because it doesn’t use the HTTP Live Streaming protocol.  According to App Advice, video producers who don’t use this format aren’t allowed by Apple to stream the video over 3G.
