Apple releases shorter, 0.5m Lightning to USB cable for $19

Apple has released a shorter version of its Lightning to USB cable. The 0.5 cable’s release comes a few weeks after Apple began offering a shorter version of its Thunderbolt cable. The new Lightning cable model is priced at the same $19 as its longer counterpart. Additionally, Apple has tweaked its in-ear headphones to offer the same remote and microphone design as the recently released Earpods.

Third parties have also stepped up the Lightning cable game as of late with Scosche, Griffin, Amazon(pictured below) and others offering a wide variety of Apple-certified cable sizes, colors and lower prices.
