And this morning’s second dubious iPhone rumor: a gold 5S

Hot on the heels of Reuters claiming that Apple’s low-cost iPhone will be sold for $99 comes a report from Japanese site Macotakara that states the same plus the 5S will be offered in one extra color: gold. Perhaps not the urine-colored version above – maybe a more muted bronze color like the below…

We saw last month what appeared to be prototype iPhone SIMs which appeared to be a bronze (or sort of gold)-colored SIM tray along with the current silver, which also suggested it was from the 5S. BGR also concludes from these two prototype examples that Apple might be getting rid of the black iPhone.

There is no word on whether the gold 5S will come with a gold chain to hang it round your neck, or whether there is a gold medallion motif on the reverse. If there is a Gold iPhone, we know what color Flavor Flav will be getting.
