iOS Uber app now offers Find My Friends-style tracking of family members

Uber has added Find My Friends-style tracking of family members using the car service on your account. The feature is an extension of the Family Profiles facility Uber started testing back in March, allowing you to add partners and children to your account so that their rides are all billed to a single card.

At Uber, we are constantly looking for new ways to use technology to improve safety for riders and drivers. Trip Tracker uses sophisticated technology to bring you peace of mind while your nearest and dearest ride on Uber. So, the next time one of your family members is headed out – you’ll know when they are on their way, which route they are taking and when they’ve arrived.

To see the functionality, you’ll need to have the latest version of the app and have a Family Profile set up. The new feature is available worldwide. You can see an animation below.
