AT&T has launched a new promo for those looking to pickup an iPhone 5s or 5c in the near future and save some cash on a new iPad. The offer is valid only with the purchase of one of Apple’s soon to be replaced iPhones through AT&T’s Next program and only for a cellular iPad model.
Another important thing to note is that the iPad needs to be activated under a two-year wireless agreement on a Mobile Share Value plan ($10/month) or a standalone plan (starting at $14.99/month for 250MB of data). AT&T’s current promo will bring the iPad mini with Wi-Fi + Cellular (16GB model) down to $199.99 with the qualifying iPhone purchase through the Next program.
Seems like a lot of hoops to jump through for an iPad discount, right? Well don’t worry, we’ve got a couple of iPad deals for you – no strings (or two-year wireless agreements) attached. But if you’re an AT&T customer and in desperate need of a cellular iPad, visit a company-owned store to take advantage of the deal.

Definitely seems like a misleading deal that AT&T hopes will lure people in with. Hopefully, people don’t fall for it as it seems like a ripoff.
You’re right – looks like an inventory dump just before the release of an all new iPhone design. If they do this kind of stuff during the “s” upgrades (from 5 to 5s) it may make sense for a lot of folks, but between 5s and 6 leaves a lot on the table if you are the buyer. If you have already made up your mind to go 5s, I’d suggest you exercise patience just a little longer to be sure you don’t end up with severe buyer’s remorse in three weeks.
Exactly, not to mention all the revenue AT&T will take in by selling all those iPad’s with monthly data plans attached. Definitely going to be some who fall for it and regret it big time.
I was planning on getting a 5S anyway…
