    Small point – Apple Pay is far from a done deal in the UK. Whilst all the major banks now support it, contactless payment terminals are still pretty rare outside of cities, and the vast majority have an arbitrary £30 cap per transaction. Try doing your weekly shop in Tesco, Asda, Sainsburys, Morrisons, M&S, etc with Apple Pay – you’ll not get far.

    So far Apple Pay is simply a far less convenient version of a contactless credit card. Same low transaction limit but much more hassle and considerably slower and less reliable. I like the idea of Apple Pay ultimately being a viable credit card alternative but that feels like something which is many years off, if it ever happens.
