Yahoo Sports app for iOS gets a redesign w/ new features for news, scores & video

Yahoo is updating its Sports app today, which offers a selection of personalized news streams, scores, notifications and video content. The company notes the new design is inspired by recent updates to its Homepage and News site, which should make for a more consistent experience between the desktop news sites and Sports mobile app.

The new app design has four tabs — Favorites, Sports, Headlines, and Alerts — with the Favorites section offering a personalized stream of news and video content based on your favorite team selections.

Yahoo notes that you’ll also find more ways to watch video in the redesigned app, both live games and on-demand clips:

Video is a big deal for us in the new Yahoo Sports app. Clicking on a team’s icon from the Favorites page will take users to a dedicated team page topped by the latest highlights and clips. The personalized and team-centric news streams also sparkle with video action. And don’t forget all of our great live content like our MLB Game of Day.

You can download the new Yahoo Sports app on the App Store now.
