Skype for Business now available for Mac alongside updated iOS app

Skype has publicly released a new Skype for Business Mac app, bringing a client specifically designed for Mac users with an edge-to-edge experience for video calls and more.

The app offers a few advantages over the regular Skype client including one-click to join functionality, full screen sharing and other Skype for Business-specific features:

Skype for Business on Mac is the all new client that provides great communication experiences for Apple users. Features like one-click join, edge-to-edge video, and full screen sharing give you a superior Skype Meetings experience.

The Skype for Business mobile apps also receive an update with the iOS app adding support for presenting PowerPoint files and new features for content sharing including Video-based Screen Sharing.

Now, sharing a PowerPoint deck in a meeting is as easy as selecting the file from your favorite cloud drive and presenting right from your phone. On Android, you can also share a file stored on the device itself. With swipe gestures, you can easily transition between different slides. Once shared, the PowerPoint file also becomes available in the meeting’s content bin for other participants to download or present.

Skype for Business on Mac is available to download here. The updated iOS app will be available on the App Store.
