MacBook Pro maker Quanta says shipments will remain high into Q1 2017

The chairman of Quanta, the sole manufacturer of MacBook Pro models, says that shipments of the new models will remain high into the first quarter of 2017, according to Digitimes. Apple is likely responsible for what the company expects to be a strong final quarter this year.

Quanta Computer, the sole producer of MacBook Pro products, expects its notebook shipments to be better than expected in the fourth quarter of 2016 and will slip only 2-3% on quarter from the previous quarter, according to company vice chairman CC Leung.

Orders for MacBook Pro models will remain strong in the first quarter of 2017, stated the sources.

Looking at the wider market, replacement demand for Windows 10 machines in businesses is going help suppliers going into the new year – with component shortages pushing some sales into what is usually a quiet first quarter. Display panels, memory products and graphics cards are all in short supply, according to the report.

Apple has said that the new machines have set a new online sales record.
