Ugreen releases new USB-C Multiport Adapter with discounted $41 launch price

Ugreen has launched its new USB-C Multiport Adapter for MacBook and MacBook Pro that offers pretty much all of legacy connectivity missing from the new Apple notebooks. The company is also offering 15% off the new hub at launch, bringing this handy adapter down to $41.

[Update: After a very popular launch, this adapter is now temporarily sold out. But we’ve heard from Ugreen that they are working to make more stock available on Amazon as soon as possible.]

Ugreen’s new USB-C Multiport Adapter comes in space gray (hopefully we’ll see more color options at some point) and hosts pretty much any I/O you’ll need. It even includes both Gigabit Ethernet and HDMI.

Here are the specs for the new hub:

  • 3 x USB-A 3.0 ports (up to 5Gbps)
  • USB-C PD (up to 60W)
  • SD slot (UHS-I)
  • Micro SD slot (UHS-I)
  • Gigabit Ethernet port
  • HDMI output (up to 4K @ 30Hz)

The 60W pass through for the USB-C PD port will charge MacBooks and new 13-inch MacBook Pros at full speed (it will still charge 15-inch MacBook Pros, but a bit slower).

The nice part about this adapter is that since it only takes up one USB-C port on your machine, you can always just plug power in to the other port without having cables and adapters on both sides for 15-inch MacBook Pros if you’d rather charger at full speed.

Ugreen’s USB-C adapter also has over-voltage and over-current safety features to protect your devices.

Considering Apple’s USB-C Multiport Adapter comes in at $69 and offers limited connectivity, Ugreen’s new offering is a great value at its regular price of $48, let alone the launch deal for $41.
