Vision Pro selling at a discount on eBay ahead of global launch

We’re three months into Apple Vision Pro launching in the US and expectations are building for international availability to arrive after WWDC 2024 in June. But what do after-market sales look like now? As it happens, you can pick up a new Vision Pro on eBay at a $500 or more discount – although there are some caveats.

New from Apple, Vision Pro retails for $3,499 for the 256GB model, $3,699 for the 512GB version, and $3,899 for the 1TB capacity (ZEISS Optical inserts, AppleCare, and accessories all extra).

Resellers have been common since the launch, especially for buyers abroad ahead of international availability.

But checking on the current reseller prices, it looks like demand may be light. Many listings for what are labeled as “Brand New” Vision Pro headsets are offered via Buy It Now listings for hundreds of dollars below the retail price.

There are of course some caveats to buying from a reseller. You need to trust it’s actually new and not used (or re-wrapped) after being opened. And many of the sellers don’t have many reviews/ratings. It may also be hard to find the exact light seals you need.

But at the time of writing, eBay says there are over 4,000 Vision Pros up for sale in “New” condition for under $3,180.

When scrolling through, it seems a Vision Pro accessory sneaks in despite eBay’s filter every third or fourth listing, so the true number of new Vision Pro headsets is likely less than 4,000. But in any case, it appears there’s quite a bit of inventory.

What do you think? Does Vision Pro at a $500-800 discount sound tempting? Share your thoughts in the comments!
