Incase has been a favorite Apple accessory brand for me since before my time at 9to5Mac started in 2013. Seriously, their steel-colored Bird’s Nest Snap iPhone 4 case was the perfect blend of chaos and expression for me in 2011. Fast-forward to 2024 and Incase has brought back another crowd pleaser with their ICON case line.
The Incase ICON case design is much more mature than the Bird’s Nest Snap case line that I favored back in the day. The ICON case line for iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max is more like Apple’s FineWoven line—just without the drama.
I tested both the Woolenex Graphite and Brown Pebbled Vegan Leather versions with my iPhone 15 Pro Max. Each case feels both comfortable and sturdy. The case structure feels plenty protective without turning your iPhone into a small brick. While the case design uses a closed bottom, the USB-C port access is spacious enough for bulky cables. The mic and speaker holes are also exposed to let you appreciate the iPhone 15 Pro titanium finish.
Both iPhone 15 Pro ICON cases include MagSafe integration for wireless charging and connecting other magnetic accessories. A MagSafe wallet would fit nicely with either premium case design.
While I expected to like Brown Pebbled Vegan Leather more, the Woolenex Graphite color and feel has paired best with my natural titanium color iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Brown Pebbled Vegtan Leather, on the other hand, has a football-like look and feel that NFL and college football fans could enhance with a team logo’d MagSafe accessory. I’m already thinking about pairing it with a New Orleans Saints MagSafe card carrier for game days this year. #WhoDat⚜️
While the case feel is excellent and the buttons are tactile, the ICON case retains its mute switch cutout design rather than adapting to the Action-buttoned iPhone 15 Pro and including a case button.
It’s by no means impossible to click the iPhone 15 Pro Action button to launch the Camera app or your preferred shortcut, but the cutout makes the button recessed instead of even with the volume buttons. That’s the one thing I would change about the ICON case for iPhone 15 Pro.
