Comedy series ‘Trying’ returns today for season four on Apple TV+

Today, Apple TV+ premieres the fourth season of British original comedy series Trying, starring Rafe Spall and Esther Smith. The first two episodes of the new season are streaming now.

Trying began as a story centered around the issue of adoption. With Nikki (Smith) and Jason (Spall) unable to have a child of their own, they turn to the adoption process — and all of the obstacles that entails.

Season four jumps forward in time six years, so we see their family in a more advanced stage. Princess is now firmly a teenager, and Tyler is 11, heading to secondary school for the first time. As always, there’s a lot of laughs, a lot of love and a lot of tears along the way.

Trying season four comprises eight episodes, running today through July 3, with a new episode dropping each Wednesday on the streamer.
